Built Around a Love of Music
Sidetracked Workshop is a small Portland, Oregon-based furniture studio creating handcrafted pieces for record collectors and thoughtfully designed homes.

How Sidetracked Workshop Started
I’m Peter, the owner and one of the craftspeople behind Sidetracked Workshop.
I’ve long been drawn to furniture design and building, but I’ve developed a particular love for record consoles and storage. Music collections are deeply personal. They reflect taste, identity, and history. A vinyl collection, especially, carries its own character, and there’s a ritual to selecting and playing a record that deserves to be honored.
My own record cabinet sits proudly as a centerpiece in my home, and that same sense of presence is what I aim to create for others. Designing and building high-quality, stylish, and enduring storage pieces that highlight your collection is what drives my work.
When I’m not in the workshop, you’ll find me gardening, snowboarding, spending time with my dog, and of course, listening to good music.
Happy listening,
Peter Huizenga

Thanks for Following Along
Thanks for taking the time to learn a little more about what we do.We feel incredibly lucky to spend our days building furniture around something we genuinely love - music, home, and the spaces people create around both.
We appreciate everyone who has supported Sidetracked Workshop along the way, whether that's through an order, a conversation, or simply following along with the journey.
